1.3MP CamFone | Rest Area

Just trying to get away from the bulky SLR, every now and then, I might just post photo captured from a cheapo 1.3MP Camera Phone.

Also, again, at times, some people always argue with me, they wanted a camera, point & shoot, a camera phone or whatever with a sky high mega pixel.

Yeap, they want it, not "need" it, so funny ah.

Most of the time, I'll just keep quiet and let them have it their way, no use explaining to those stubborn people believing that the higher the MP the better, even have the guts to compare their 10MP point & shoot or CamFone with a DSLR or even a film camera.

Now, what I wanna say is that, nowadays, it does not really matter how many mega pixel your camera is having, I bet the lowest MP that u can bought new is 1.3MP, especially if u only use the photo to upload to your website or just use it to camwhore or your IM photos so why bother to spend million in buying a 10MP camera?

And, and, and I also think that you have never even printed any photo from those sky high mega pixel camera or yours, you just keep it in your memory card until it is fully loaded then u delete them or buy another card!

Some even like to buy whatever new model it is coming out of the market, but why? So much money eh? If so, share-share lah some.

So, listen here, it does not really matter what type of camera you are using, what matter most is how one sees stuff thru the lens, forget about those advertising gimmicky about 100x digital zoom or 1001x digital zoom, look out for the optical zoom instead, and, oh, if it does not have any zoom, so what, just go back and forward to get the right composition meh.

Thou I must admit, a good camera gear do helps, but, still, it all depends on the person behind the camera!

So this post and the future post, like this, is dedicated to those having a cheap, humble, floor-low-lying megapixel camera.

Don't be surprised that, some of the photos that are printed in the magazine, covers, or even won a competition were taken with a camera el cheapo.

Something different from the previous posts.



Just a simple sign, sprayed on a makeshift wall.

Thou, the above image can be done entirely with Photoshop and such, but it just ain't the same as capturing the actual one.

Still remember a real story, told by my dad, during their early college days, the time when English was not widely spoken.

Whilst walking back home from school, they saw a sign, very similar as above, but it was put at an electrical sub-station, stating "DANGER".

So, one of them said, "Hei, look at that sign, DENGAR, perhaps they want us to listen to it", hence they approached the station and listen to it!

Luckily nobody get hurts.

On a different note, I had the opportunity to be invited to the High Schools' National Patriotic Choir competition.

Watching and listening to the choir performances was really something.

During my school days, I always wanted to join the choir, or just to join anything that could represent the school.

I might have represented the school in few occasions, but not the choir.

Oh well, back to the choir competition, it was quite an enjoyable event, listening to the harmonious voices singing those patriotic songs, injected more "patriotistic" boost to your body system!

Not only that, but they are now more innovative with their showmanship, not only the hands are moving but the whole body as well!

A big round of applause for their dedicated teachers in conducting their rehearsal for their performances.

As well as all of the participants, and congrats to the winners.

For the past so n so years, the national day celebrations were held at the same venue i.e. Taman SOAS, as such, the modus operandi were almost the same year thru year.

Hence the challenge in photographing such event, is how to capture it differently, finding new perspective, a different view from the others, and most importantly, to make it different from the one that we ourselves took during the previous years.

Some of the photos, have already been taken by the others, or yourself previously, so need to find something new.

I always wanted to join the school's band back during the ol' skool years, but I never got the chance to be in it, thou I do enjoyed the performances back then, them playing some songs, even some joget songs, and dancing along with their instruments!

Wall Abstract.

Do you feel that the lift/elevator is moving quite slow sometimes?

Well, one way to make it "move fast" is by, sticking some sort of art, poster, notices or even mirror.

It will not make the lift move faster, but it will make the time of travel seems to be short, unless you stick a boring poster or some sort.

The same goes to a long blank wall, by introducing some sort of "eye candy" on the wall, it will makes your walk seems to be short.

ABSTRACT | The One with the Circle Thingy

Most of the times, before pressing the shutter, one can already visual the photo that one wanted to compose.

The challenge is how to capture it and share it with the others to have the same feel.



One of the most important aspects in photography is the composition, how you place the subject within the frame.

The easiest, by which all amateur should know is the Rule of Third, of which, you imagine the photo as a tic tac toe, and you place the subject at any one of the intersections of the lines.

But obviously, most people doesn't like to stick with the rule, as what they said, rules are meant to be broken, are they?

Anyway, as one, are more proficient in photography, you can deviate from the rule, bend the rule if you will, or otherwise, make your own rule. :)

In certain part of the world, the exterior looks hundred years old, or they are in fact really that old, but inside, very hi-tech, sometimes, even more sophisticated than your home!

And speaking of angkasawan (astronaut), there's this Minister interviewed by the press, the Minister known for his alter-ego, answered each question very arrogantly, until these Q&As were highlighted:

Press: So what is this extra special project for our astronaut?
Minister: Don't worry, ours is very unique, no one has ever tried it before.

Press: And what is that uniqueness?
Minister: Instead of going to the moon, we, our astronaut will go to the sun!

Press: But, Sir, that is quite impossible, do you know how hot the sun is? Long even before they reach it, the metal will melt!
Minister: Ah! That's where our uniqueness, we will travel during the winter night!

RANDOM | Of Blue Glasses

Of blue glasses and blue sky
Are the glasses "colourless" and the colour is just a mere reflection from the sky?
Or,
Or the glasses are really blue?

In fact, it does not really matter;
As what matter most are the end product.

Might be true to human as well,
Does not really matter how many A's you got during your lower classes,
Nor how many distinctions whilst in secondary years;
Or even how many O's and A's you manage to grab during your upper secondary.

At the end of the day, what type of Job you are doing to earn your living.
Will it be the one who design the "blue glasses"?
Or will it be the one who build the "blue-glassed structure"?
Or the one who cleans the glasses?
Or just a passer-by who admire the beauty of the "blue-glasses" and wanted to achieve such feat?
Or perhaps, just someone who took photo of the so called "blue-glasses" then upload and made a poem (if that is what you called) out of it, out of the blue???

So it is up to you, to think of what you wanna be;
We can only plan but our actually destiny and faith, that is not for us to decide.
