TRAVEL | Daun Di Kolam ...

.... just a quick post ... this photo was not taken at a national park... nor anywhere near it .... this was actually taken at the rooftop of one of the huge shopping malls in Singapore ....

... usually.. when we see stuffs lying around on the street .. or even in the pond or the like.. we will consider it as rubbish .. or litters... but there are actually 2 type of rubbish ..."good rubbish" .. and "rubbish rubbish" .... good rubbish are those which could decompose easily and contribute back to nature ... just like .... falling leaf .... where as rubbish rubbish are something like .. plastic bags ... PVC and the like .... which does not decompose that easily ....

.. but nevertheless... rubbish to one... could mean money to others ......


... leafs covered pond ... falling leaf.. or placed on purpose.... what ever it is .. it makes such a good photo ops...

.. and what I found amusing is the way how they address themselves... or even send their dedication.. be it in Malay ... or English ....

... XEROX ... established as a photocopier .. hence people will say ... " can u xerox this for me please .... " ... instead of ... " can u photocopy this for me ..." .. even thou the photocopier is not a Xerox ... it may be Canon .. Minolta .. or the like ....

... KLEENEX ... famous tissue brand .... " ... do u have any kleenex with u ..?" .. thou people nowadays .. will just say tissue ...

.. OMO ... a famous washing detergent .... " .. oh no .. I have run out of OMO ... " .. eermm... doesn't sound right ..... perhaps only happens in Brunei ... " ... eh abis tia omo ah ... ada jual omo kah sini ani ah ...? " .... despite having new brands such as .. Trojan .. Fab ... and Persil ...etc ... people in Brunei .. will still call it ... OMO ....

.... KODAK .. one of the established camera film .... " .. ermmm.. I've only got one Kodak left ..." ... or in malay ... .." .. nah inda beKODAK kamera mu ah ... " .... ( mana jua inda berkodak ... mun digital ..) ... when one should say ..... " yikes.. no more spare film left ..." ....

... COLGATE ... another well known brand of toothpaste .... " ... sorry dude... no more colgate left ..." ..... " ... nah abis tia colgate ku ah .... " .. when people should say ... " nah abis tia ubat gigi ku ah ..." .... but we have many brands now .... Darlie (use to be Darkie) ... Pepsodent .. Oral B .... and there's this brand ... believe it or not ..... ORAL ME! ....

.. CLOROX ... brand for a bleach .... " .. adeeh .. mesti jua makai clorok ni .. mun inda inda mau ilangtu eh ... " ....

.. and there are many more such examples .... but it's getting late .. I can only think of this at the moment ... perhaps... u can add some more....

... like it or not ... it is part of our world .... without 'em ... our world would be empty ... bare ... gloomy ....

.. if there's no flower ... there's nothing else to give to your love one ..... fake flower u say...? .. yea .... it will last forever .. but it's fake ... would u want a long lasting fake love ... or not so long but real love ....



... somewhere at the locale ... a bare tree... no leaf nor flower ....

... unless your heart .. your soul .... n your whole being are behind every decision u make ... the words from your mouth will be empty.. and each action will be meaningless....

... be a gentle friend to trees .....and they will give you back beauty......cool and fragrant shade, ......and many birds singing...

... so .. stop every now and then...... Just stop and enjoy...... Take a deep breath...... Relax and take in the abundance of life..... appreciate what we have now .....

... we usually accept.. and look at flora n fauna ... in colours .... and obviously everything is brilliant in colour....

... so what if .. we look at them in different perspective.... in a monotone mood ....

.. Brunei ... the Heart of Borneo .. as it is also known as.. are rich in wide variety of flora and fauna ... some of the species found in Brunei are only unique to Brunei...

... and the eco-system is such that .. within a ten metre square area .... one can find hundreds.. if not thousand... species of different breed.....

BRUNEI | Tasik Lama ...

... Taman Rekreasi Tasik ... ( Tasik Recreational Park) .. or in Brunei widely known as Tasik Lama .... Tasik is the malay term for Lake ....

Tasik Lama is conveniently located at the heart of the Capital of Brunei ...... Bandar Seri Begawan .... This is one of the earliest water reservoir which supply fresh water to the public....

... now it has been heavily renovated ... new playgrounds ... new rubberised jogging track .... new clean toilets! ... a better amenities and recreational facilities.... many thanks to those authority concerns .....

... Tasik is usually packed with people .. doing their rounds .. in the morning ... and the number will usually double or triple during the afternoon .. after office hours .....

..... if u get up early in the morning .. some time before 0700 Hours ...... u can join the early bird "Tai-Chi" sessions .... the number or participants can be as much as 100 .... or even 1000 if u count them repetitively .... ;) ....

... there are lotsa stuffs that you can do in Tasik .... u can exercise .... walk or... brisk walk..... jog .... hiking .... do some photography ....... or jus sit down there........ n look at all those beautiful people passing by .... ;)

... By the by ... they always called this place Tasik Lama ... hmmm... so my question is ... Where is Tasik Baru? .. ( if there's any .... otherwise they won't call it Tasik LAMA ... hmmm..)
