SEOUL | Thomas the Tank Engine for Real?

On my way out of the Yongsan Station to the Electromart, I happened to see the railway tracks and the train depot, which reminds me of Thomas the Tank Engine.


There you go, Thomas and his friends, and what I found interesting is that, if you try to search for Thomas in YouTube, you will be amazed at the numerous remixes there are, which includes remixes with, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and the others!


Up close of one of the railway signal. During the old days, where no electronic signals nor communication was the easily available, the Railway Master will pass some sort of a railtrack baton/switch to the train driver, which means that, only a single train can pass thru the railway track, and if another train wanted to pass/ use the railtrack, the driver will then hand over the baton/switch stick to the other driver via the Railway Master!


Also in the ol' days, in order to signal the other station, a signal was then passed thru the wire, thus the invention of the telegraf, and to switch the railtrack, a huge lever will then be operated in sequence, and if it was to be done not in sequence, then it will not work, and only now everything can be done electronically, via computer and real time tracking, thus eliminating or at least reducing human error.


Oh by the way, along the way on the street, I saw this "Thomas the Tank Engine" tricycle, for those who don't really know who Thomas was.

TOKYO | Women Only!

The subways in Tokyo are very crowded to the max during rush hours, so crowded that a special attendant will push people in the passenger car so that it will be filled to the maximum.

Such occurrence do make the women feel uncomfortable, especially squeezing with strangers.

Thus, because of these, the railway companies had introduce the Women Only passenger cars, (depending on the train) which will be applicable during certain hours of the day. It was also known, that such policy have also been adopted by many cities around the world.

Yeap, only women are allowed to board this particular section of the train.




So for the guys, need to board another section of train, on man, now how to find girls now ah, aiyoh so difficult now meh.

When traveling to foreign places, the public transportation is the traveler's best friend, one can not avoid in using them when traveling, and it is not surprising that most of the time spend are in using this public transportation system, traveling from one place to another.



So just to fill the time when traveling, snap what ever you can, might as well capture it to treasure and document your journey.

TRAVEL | We are Going to That Stop

In the course of traveling to various countries, for those who loves photography, the camera is the most important item after the passport.

RANDOM | The Commuter Rush ...

.. the schools' holidays are coming to an end ... this also means that... the raya celebration is slowly fading .... everybody will now be rushing to visit one another... thou "open house" will still be organised til the end of the Raya month ...


... rushing thru the public transport system ....

... eermmm... too late .. can't write much ... anyway ... have an enjoyable weekend .....

RANDOM | Balik Kampung ....

.. for those in the big cities like Kuala Lumpur .... the first few days of raya are usually spend at their kampong .. or home village ... and now .. after few days of raya ... loads of people will be coming back to the city ... meaning .. the road leading to the city .. and the city itself .. will be packed with commuters .... either... private vehicles or public transports... for those lucky one will manage to get their ticket earlier ... otherwise... u need to "beg" for tickets ....



... looking for the right route .. making sure one is buying the right kind of ticket...

... once... nearly midnight .. it was a very long Q to the ticket vending machine .. and it was almost the last train home... and soon as we reach to the vending machine.. the ladies in front mentioned that .. there's no more ticket left .... so no more ticket can be purchased ... hmmm.. nearly frustrated ... luckily .. we still have our used ticket card ( which one can return to get your dollar deposit back) ... so we returned the ticket card back to the machine... and try purchasing a new ticket... and.... waaaheeeeyyyy... we got ourselves a ticket to ride.....

.. so the moral of the story ... keep your ticket card to the last minute... even if you don't use it... oh well.. u can just keep it as a souvenir ... can put it as your scrapbooking material ... and oh... peduli apa ia inda lead free or anything ... so what ... ;p ...

BRUNEI | TRANSPORT | Railway ....

... thou there's no public railway train in Brunei .... (unless you consider those in Jerudong Park one.. then that's another story ....)...... but there's a remnant of a railtrack .. which was use very longtime ago ... in Brunei ..... not really sure how the train looks like... nor much detail about it thou.....


.. if u look at the very right .. u can find the old railtrack ....

... hmmm... would it still be feasible for Brunei to built a railway .. or those Light Rail System....?

TIPS FOR GOING AROUND IN A TAXI ....

1. ... make sure the there are 4 tyres... if there's only 3... then ... it is not a taxi ... it's perhap a Tuk-tuk... if in Thailand .... ... or bajaj if in Indonesia....

2. .... also do count the number of seat... if there are about 17 seats... then perhaps... you are in a minibus ....

3. ... and by the way ... make sure u r already seating on the taxi's seat .... pasal mun inda... mana tau masih menunggu arah kerusi arah taxi stand kah di mana kah ....

4. ... then tell the driver your destination.... to avoid them bringing u back to their home ...

5. ... dalam taxi atu ... jangan tah malu kan bertanya... pasal malu bertanya sasat jalan .... tapi jangan tah jua luan banyak atu... basar kemaluan tu eh ... mun luan basar kemaluan ... payan kan berjalan ....

6. ... do make sure the taxi is using a fare meter .... not a weighing machine or some sort....

7. .... be polite to the taxi driver if u don't wanna be cheated ... but not too polite... otherwise... kena urat karang oleh dreber teksi ...

8. Do NOT .. jump out of the moving taxi .. it will endanger other people ....

9. ... Do NOT sleep in a taxicab ..... or otherwise... not only you will be charged with the taxi fare.. but u might also be charged as if u r in a lodging room .....

10. ... if u are a guy ... and if the taxi driver ask for your name... don't tell them your name is Michael Jackson ... because he don't ride in a cab ....and NEVER ever tell them your name is Michael Jackson .... if you are a lady ... because for sure... the driver will know you are really lying....

11. ... if you are feeling bored about your daily routine..... why not just slap the taxi driver... for sure it won't be your typical daily routine one meh ....

"Malam Kingsway" ... because ... for those who remember .... years and years ago .... .. when cable TV nor the net was "unheard" of ... there use to be an entertainment program every Saturday Night shown on the neighbouring country's channel .... called Sensasi Malam Kingsway or something .... whereby ... those popular artists would made an appearance and such ..... hence the name ..... ;)

SPORTS | F1 Ferrari ...

.... while we are still on the F1 topic ... walking further along the street ... there's another F1 car on display .... the Ferrari .... which is unique in the fact that it produces both chassis and engines for its cars....

... the aerodynamics force of F1 cars are so powerful that ... theoretically ... they can be driven driven upside down on the ceiling without falling .... hmmmm... imagine if they have wings... they could even fly .... because ... the take off speed of a commercial airplane is slower than the top-speed of the F1 cars! ....

... as u know ... the F1 pit stop crew can easily change all the four wheels .. AND refuel at the same time in under ten seconds .... imagine ... if such service exist in the "real world" ... WOW .... there would surely be lotsa demands for it ... BUT ....... the thing is ... how expensive will the charges be!!!?? .....

BTW ... if u really wanna feel a lil bit .... just a mere tiny bit of F1 experience in your car ... just fill in your tyres with Nitrogen ... (those green coloured hoses in the workshops).. because..... the F1 tyres are filled with Nitrogen gases because of the consistency ....

... Penarik beca (Rickshaw Peddler) is a human-powered mode of transport, use to be one of the important mode of travel in most countries .... Singapore.. Malaysia ... China... Japan ... India ....

....... thou in some part of the world, it is still being use as part of their Modus Operandi ... but ... in some countries ............... it is jus some sort of tourist attraction thingy .....

.... there's this one old black-and-white movie called Penarik Beca ... which starred the late Tan Sri P.Ramlee ... Malaysia's well-known artist ............ which was considered to be ............ and still is one of the must watch movie of all time ................. but be prepared to get some tissues.... ;)

.... for those who frequently uses the public transport would know what the numbers stand for ... hmmm.. nope ... not the 4 Digit numbers .. nor the QMS (Queue Management System) ... it is the number of the buses for the designated destination...

.. BTW .. did u know that... there this hotel in Singapore .. where by... your hotel key card... can be used as the MRT travel card ... as well as for the buses .... ... and the key card can also be used to pay for your shoppings and your ticket to the movies... ( eeerr.. ignore the movie & shopping bit ... I'm just over exaggerating ... ;p)... anyway .... how cool can that be ... that's how the integration of electronic or e-thingy ... should be ... as well as the integration of the private and public sector ....

TRANSPORTATION | Sampan ...

... not far from the "rich man's ride" ... and in contrast of those huge one .... I encountered these children ... paddling happily in their self made rowing boat ... or in malay also known as Sampan ...

... looking at their gears ... they might also be an "expert" in scuba diving ... hmmmm.....

.... I still remember .. back in the childhood days ..... living in Kampung Aying (Water Village) ... (yeap ... I'm from Kampung Aying ... and proud of it ... ;) ) ..... doing a backflip ... from the verandah to the open water below .... playing with those mud .... covering our body with it ... ( and now lotsa SPAs are also doing it.... that .... the mud bath thingy .... .. macam orang kampung aying jua tu .... ) .....

..... we also manage to "play" with those small square paddle boat .... and our heart will be pulsating with excitement .. everytime the tide rises ..... siuk kali ah ... mun aying dalam ....


... and yea ... while we are in the subject of who follows who ....

... did u know that ... or realise that ... there are a lot of similarity between Sushi ... & Pulut Panggang ...? if u cut Pulut Panggang .. accordingly .. it will look like Sushi ....

... well... yang banar nya ... durang atu ... dulu masa jaman jipun ... dorang teliat Pulut Panggang ... so eyatah .. dorang ikut di Jipun .... but dorang inda tercari daun nyirik atu.. or watever daun yang kena pakai membuat Pulut Panggang ..... so they use the ubiquitous Seaweed .... n Tada .... there u go ..... the origin of Sushi ..... ;)
