TRAVEL | We are Going to That Stop

In the course of traveling to various countries, for those who loves photography, the camera is the most important item after the passport.

A good sense of direction is optional.

1.3MP CamFone | Rest Area

Just trying to get away from the bulky SLR, every now and then, I might just post photo captured from a cheapo 1.3MP Camera Phone.

Also, again, at times, some people always argue with me, they wanted a camera, point & shoot, a camera phone or whatever with a sky high mega pixel.

Yeap, they want it, not "need" it, so funny ah.

Most of the time, I'll just keep quiet and let them have it their way, no use explaining to those stubborn people believing that the higher the MP the better, even have the guts to compare their 10MP point & shoot or CamFone with a DSLR or even a film camera.

Now, what I wanna say is that, nowadays, it does not really matter how many mega pixel your camera is having, I bet the lowest MP that u can bought new is 1.3MP, especially if u only use the photo to upload to your website or just use it to camwhore or your IM photos so why bother to spend million in buying a 10MP camera?

And, and, and I also think that you have never even printed any photo from those sky high mega pixel camera or yours, you just keep it in your memory card until it is fully loaded then u delete them or buy another card!

Some even like to buy whatever new model it is coming out of the market, but why? So much money eh? If so, share-share lah some.

So, listen here, it does not really matter what type of camera you are using, what matter most is how one sees stuff thru the lens, forget about those advertising gimmicky about 100x digital zoom or 1001x digital zoom, look out for the optical zoom instead, and, oh, if it does not have any zoom, so what, just go back and forward to get the right composition meh.

Thou I must admit, a good camera gear do helps, but, still, it all depends on the person behind the camera!

So this post and the future post, like this, is dedicated to those having a cheap, humble, floor-low-lying megapixel camera.

Don't be surprised that, some of the photos that are printed in the magazine, covers, or even won a competition were taken with a camera el cheapo.

Rest Area, yeap, not a RestRoom, cool ain't it?

Note: The lens were covered with a thick clear PVC protection cover, which protects the phone.

RANDOM | Alone with the Sea

Being alone, watching the beautiful waters just ain't the same as watching it with the loved one.

There's actually a thin line defining a fisherman and a person standing doing nothing watching the ocean.

RANDOM | Got Tracks No Train

I was a part of the statistic of those who totally cannot access the internet.

It was connectionless for the past few days, hence could not upload any photo til today.

Because of this occurrence, I don't know whether I shall be posting a new photo daily, just don't feel like it, perhaps, from today I will just upload new post whenever I feel like it, maybe still daily, but may also be once a week, or once a fortnight or perhaps just once a month, oh well, we'll just see how it goes.

Anyway, usually, when thing like this happens, no or very slow connection, the I.P. will be null i.e. 0.0.0.0, but this time around there was an I.P. available but it ain't moving anywhere, it was as if, there is a road or track but it can't be used.

What was actually the real problem? No explanation was given, they should at least let us know, be it a hanged server, loose connection, banned IP or what ever it might be, just give our a press release.

TRAVEL | SINGAPORE | The Fullerton Hotel at Turn 14

The Fullerton Hotel, Singapore.

As many people would know by now, Singapore will be hosting the world 1st ever Night Time F1 race, scheduled to be held on the 28th September 2008.

It will be a street race, and the Fullerton Hotel will be one of the witnesses of this amazing race.

The race will be held within the vicinity of the Marina Bay area, and the Fullerton Hotel is at Turn 14.

If you wanna be a part of the historic event, book your tickets and hotel now, but mind you, the hotel along the race track cost at least $1,000 per room per night! And you have to book it for the "5 days" weekend!

The flood lights are now being tested at St. Andrew's Road, the intensity of the race light is about 3,000 Lux, oh FYI, the normal street light is about 100 Lux, where as the normal sunlight is about 50,000 Lux!

For sure, the road will need to be resurfaced, and the manhole covers need to be welded, or otherwise the G-Force from the over 300km/h F1 car will pull them open!

RANDOM | Baiser de l'Hôtel de Ville

I love to look at photos, especially by those legendary photographers, learning how they captured such outstanding images out of the ordinary life.

Hence, whilst dining at a "fine restaurant" at one of our fine neighbouring countries, out of the many fine photos hanging on the walls, one of the photos caught my attention.

I remembered seeing the photo somewhere, and my mind was wandering as I was indulging the food, and after a few moment, I remembered that it was one of the iconic photos ever taken.

Baiser de l'Hôtel de Ville or Kiss at City Hall (bottom right), was taken in the 1950, and the woman in the photo, Françoise Bornet, sold her original photo taken by Robert Doisneau, for more than $0.25 Mil. at a Paris auction.

Although, the wall was decorated with beautiful black & white images, that particular photo still strike a chord.

RANDOM | Local Shop

With the new malls mushrooming, some would thought that, those small shop just could not compete with the new and modern settings.

But, surprisingly, these small shops, do still exist, up and about, and some of them even open their branch at the newly developed shopping complex/malls.

One of the many small shops at the capital, which have been operating since so many years ago, and now they have opened up a number of branches in the new malls, and amazing enough, one would presume the new layout for the new branches would be different, but the layout is still the same as this shop.
