Siem Reap is not the capital of Cambodia, as what many people have thought. The capital is actually, Phnom Penh.Nevertheless, Siem Reap is the 2nd largest after Phnom Penh, but out of the two, I think it is more worthed to visit Siem Reap due to its historical sites.
Siem Reap town centre itself is not that huge, one can easily cover the whole town within one day, unless you hop in and out at each shop, then it could take you days, but for me, I did manage to cover it in half a day.
The town is easily explored on foot, as it is still developing, it is quite an interesting walk. Walking around the town is an adventure of its own.
If you are expecting those huge luxurious shopping mall, then you have come to the wrong place. If your main intention is to go for those type of shopping, then coming here will only make you frustrated, perhaps maybe the next 5 - 10 years, but not now.
As you can see, it is still developing, and hence the infrastructure is obviously as what you can see from the photos, even the road is quite dusty, expecially during the dry season, for those having asthmatic problem, you better be prepared.
Bicycles, motocycles, tricycles or any two-wheeled vehicles are the most popular mode of transport in Cambodia, as one can carry almost any type of goods on the vehicle, table set, huge TV, livestocks, fruits and even lots of passenger! One need not go to the reknown Cirque de soleil just to watch a circus balancing act, just sitting along the road would gives you the same kind of amusement.
And this is called the "tuk-tuk", the most convenient way to chauffeur you around the town, easy, convenient and you can smell the fresh air! But make sure you confirm your fare before making any journey, and if it suits you, you can hire one with driver throughout your stay in Cambodia. 
Well, this is another fascinating scene. No, they are not selling fake Jack Daniels or cheap booze along the street, but these are in fact petrol to fuel their motorcycles, as filling station is not that common within the town.
As mentioned earlier, the town area is still developing heavily, so such scene is quite common within the town centre, so one of my many tips, wear your most comfortable footwear, those which can easily be cleaned later but not those prize ones, and enjoy your trip.
Whilst wandering around the vicinity, I thought, might as well capture some people walking along the perimeter.So hanging around for a bit, I manage to take this.
Three friends walking side by side, may be to find a place to have lunch or may be have just finished their lunch.
Or perhaps, might just have a quick bite, and have an iced coffee latte to go.

... and obviously .. a typical scene after the photo session ... everybody will be looking back at their camera screen ....... hmmm... small compact camera .... is a fashion statement ... is it ...? ... but I bet ... if the big companies do make .. fashionable DSLR ... pink in colour perhaps... or perhaps... given a dash of design by Prada .. or LV .. or even Gucci .... maybe the ladies will bring DSLR to any functions despite their bulkiness.... ... but maybe not .... coz .. their argument now will be .... it will not fit their LV .... Coach .. or Gucci handbags ..... ... so now perhaps .... those designers should now design ... ladies handbag which are capable to carry DSLR .... maybe Anya Hindmarch could start one.... just like their "I'm Not A Plastic Bag" thingy .... but now ... they can design such as ... "I'm Also A Camera Bag" ...... funny them ladies ... everything should be coloured match .... or suits their clothing .... despite having a crap compact cameras with minimal quality .. or crap mobiles having minimal functions .... doesn't really matter ... as long as the colour are matching ... and it fits the handbag ... that alls that matters ..... .. so I guess ... big sizes have it downsides ... small sizes do have its followers .... ;)
... this also shows that ... even if the ladies like to hold .. and play .. with ... long ...huge ... large ... lenses ... they will only be capable of holding it for awhile .... or they just like to play-play with 'em..... but to bring it everywhere they go ..... holding it ... in longer period of time.... for a long duration ....... are they capable of doing it ....?
.... hmmmm... that's another different story ... ;)
... one of the best part in "capturing the moment" is having a "symbiotic" relationship with the subject/s .... the "vainer" the better .... i.e. ... one loves to take photo .... one loves to pose ... so there you go ... a very "eruptionous" relationship .... if there is such word ...
.. trying to get away from the typical posing group photo ... the subjects were asked who have the widest smile of all.... and the answer ..... pointing to one person!!! .... eerrk... nope .. that was not the question actually .... it was actually ... eerrmm.. oh just forget it ...... btw.... I wanna work here ....Manager: .. hmmm.. what work can u do...? Maikal: ... I can chop huge tree faster than you can finish your Maggi Mee ....Manager: ... but I don't eat Maggi Mee .... only Mie Sedaap .... Maikal: .. oh well.. what ever .. but I know I cut down load of trees ...Manager: ... you think so? .... well here's your axe .. I want u to cut down that huge tree outside...Maikal: ... oh ok ... (Less than 5 minutes he met with the Manager...)Manager: ... eh so fast? .. why u give up ...? Maikal: .. nope... see for yourself ... I've chopped down the tree!Manager: (looking outside in disbelief) ... eeerkk!.. how did u do that? ... where did u learn such act? Maikal: ... aaaah ... I trained with the best .. I learned from the Sahara Jungle ...Manager: ... what Jungle? .... Sahara Desert U mean...?Maikal : ... aaaaah that is what U called it now ! ;)
.. Majlis Berbedak.. is held after Majlis berbedak-bedak mandi.. and before the actual Wedding Reception .... ... usually held on Thursday nite ... or Friday nite ... depending on prior arrangement from both the bride n groom's side .... .. most cases .. the other side of the family will visit each other during the function .... the bride's famillies coming over to the groom's event ... and vice versa ....... but at times .... each bride or groom will only conduct such event among their own family members only ... i.e. without exchanging visits .... and either way ... earlier arrangement will be made....
... friends n familis gathering.. and clamouring the bride ... just to get a piece of the action of the moment..... must be something about the bride that made them act such way .... or they are only pretending posing for the huge lenses on the camera ..... hmmmm..... ;P
.. wedding is full of emotions .... be prepared to cry ... cry of happiness ... joy ...... or even sad perhaps .... .. parents "letting go" of their precious daughter especially ... to her newly wed hubby ... new and more responsiblities...

.. one of the interesting aspect in doing wedding photography is capturing the arrival of guests ...... u can see their expression .. be it happy of the auspicious day ... or even confuse .. ... confuse of getting their way ... .. where to go ... where to sit .... or the worst .... confuse if this is the right wedding address or not .... especially so if you are going to the Perpindahan area ..... hmmm....

Does .. the nagging of the wifey to their hubby .. make a good advert? ... ... what happen to those .. out-of-the-box-that-make-u-think kind of advert ...? ... ... I'm always looking forward to the advert by Petronas especially during the festive season ... every year without fail ... since eeermm so n so year .. they have made a very touching advert ... tangkap lintuk punya .. wa cakap sama lu ... meleleh babe ... oh well.. not me thou ... but the women mostly .... ;) ... they are loads of memorable adverts on telly be it locally .. regional or even international ... just can't list them out here .... .. but I guess ... an ultimate not-so-nice but annoying advert do cling on your head .. especially if they have those annoying slogan or tune .... like ... eeermmm.. ... eeermm.. oh .. I better not say it .... I bet u know some ... eer o loads of 'em ....
.. kampung ayer child listening to his favourite song thru his personal stereo .. eermm.. MP3 ... .. listening to your iPod or MP3's whilst jogging on the road is actually not a good idea ... in fact it is very dangerous... because .. you cannot hear the traffic ... why not just ditch your MP3 .. and listen to the nature .... that's the only time you can enjoy the natural ambience .. so might as well... :)... back to the earlier paragraph ... the art of listening .... did you know that ... Listen and Silent both have the same letters! ... so .. in listening ... one should know how to be silent .... .. especially to the women .... the guy should know .. how to listen to their silent .... ;)

Wednesday used to be one of our "happy-hours" days ... ( still is kah..? ;P) ... eermm.... having some time off... to unwind from the day job .... and such .....

... walking around during your travels..... without enough rest can be very tiring .... once in a while... u need to rest ... or just sit back along the street ...... sitting along the street ... not only you can watch loads of people passing by ... you can even the experience the hectic life of their busy city ...... some are rushing to their destination... some just walk in their own sweet time... some touristy like... just look.. and wander around... "looking lost".. or just having some thought on that street ...... and some are even having their ice cream .. or coffee while on the move.....
.... it was quite a cloudy day ... but the sunlight manage to lit this lady in a pretty interesting mood I might say ... hence... I grab my camera... and capture the moment ....
.. still on the black and white series ... and getting closer towards the ice cream vendor... also known as the Eskrim Potong Man ... or loosely translated as The Cut Ice-Cream Man ..... from the big box container .. the ice-cream is then cut into a cuboid .. or an elongated cube ... which is then wrap with bread or soft bun... or just taken as it is ... plain ice-cream....... one can have various flavour .... Yam ... vanilla ... corn .... durian ... yeap... Durian the fruit....

... ok guys.. and gals ... fess up .... people like .. .eeerm.. no ... they love to see sites with wedding photos ... be it the photos of the newly weds... or photos of their families... friends ... as long as there are loads of photos of people in some certain functions ... events ... sports and such ...... in other words ... people love to see site with photos of people ... ... then they will go ... ... a relative of the newly wed... receiving a "door gift" .. as she arrived at the ceremony ... ;)... in the local wedding scene ... giving a door gift for the guest is considered a norm ... given at the "door" ...or during "meet & greet" session.. it all depends on the situation ... .. different types of gift can be expected during the ceremony ... mugs ... umbrella .... frame ... praying mat.... plate... small decoratives.... place mat ... hmmmm.... I'm still waiting for those giving those actual PVC chair used at the ceremony .... so any takers...?
.. in any events in Brunei ... especially .. those need to be celebrated ... i.e. weddings ... engagements ... or the likes.... families.... relatives.... and friends ... are included in the must invited list ... as they are the one who will make the function ..... ceremony... alive ........ alive with joys and laughter ..... tears of hapiness ..... and also they are the one who will gonna tease u a lot ..... loads and loads....

... for some...... the extended weekend might have been spent with the family ..... having some quality time together ..... could also be with the relatives... or friends .... just unwinding ... getting away from the hectic routine weekdays.... ... for some .... doesn't really make a difference... some might be working in shifts .... working to earn their living ... or busy ... engaging themselves... in any other business... who knows... doing online business..... investing in shares ..... stocks .... or the "in" thing nowadays... (so they said...) ... FOREX .... hmmmm....... anyway ... whatever .. u might be doing ... just be careful ... .. take good care of yourself.... esp. your health ... just don't over do it .... :)
