... a typical scene from a construction's site .... the big blue twin towers at the background are normal for a large construction's site ....
... where as the large rock boulder at the foreground .... eermmmm... it is not even a rock actually ... it's a large lump of hard soil ... being compressed under intense pressure for a very long period of time ....
... during our Geology period ... we have to "scrutinise" each rock .. use a magnifying glass... check every detail of material particle contained within the rock .... the purpose was that, so that we know what type of soil/ground that project will gonna be sited.... hence we can design an appropriate foundation for it ....
... Thus ... Engineers' work are mostly buried underground .....

Actually... thats already considered a rock... one may pass it off as compressed soil... but thats how sedimentary rocks are formed... they get compressed, compacted and eventually it'll harden... a lil bit of geology for the soul :p

.. n at least now we know.. some people do really learn something from school/uni ... ;)
.. but for me ... the one in the photo is still not a rock .... it is still a hardened soil ...
... Erosion, transportation and sedimentation...... rearrange the original minerals into new types of sedimentary soil..... and rock.
Accumulating layer upon layer ... n moved by tectonic plates.... sediments become reheated n compressed...... thereby changing their structure..... ;)
