FILM OUTING | Leica R8 + Summicron 50mm f/2

.. well as mentioned earlier at the Shout Box/ Tag Box ... we finally went for a "film outing" around the capital, Bandar Seri Begawan ...... I was out with David Cheok, Zulhilmi & Irwan Lois ....

... after several "digital outing" .....this was actually our first "film outing" .... and although I started off with film cameras ages ago .... but after many moons ... this is my 1st time working with the "Rolls Royce" of camera .... the legendary Leica R8 ( .. hybrid camera .... i.e. can be used as a digital camera ... with the add-on of Digital Modul Back... but of course I did not use the digital version... coz it is bl***y expensive ... $10k ! ...... ) .......with the Leica Summicron 50mm f/2 prime lens ...... and Fujicolor Superia X-Tra400 36 exp.

... the first time handling the camera was awesome ...... I guess it's true that... one need no manual handbook to operate the camera..... and heck .... everything is manual on the camera ....

.. the aperture control is located on the lens itself .... and if u think that is tough ... there's no autofocus .... it has a manual focus only ... and in order to get the picture into focus ... the lens need to be rotated few full turns (360 Degrees) before it get into focus .... and yeap .... advancing the film is manual .....so does... rewinding the film when u get to the end of the roll....

.. if u r looking for an auto mechanism .... just get other camera...... ;)

... clicking and hearing the shutter .... is just like listening to the roar of a V12 engine .... won't be surprised if one can reach orgasm hearing it ... hahaha

.... hence for that reason .... one need to have a lot of patient in operating such camera..... not recommended to be used in action photography ....

... the photo above is the actual image from the camera .... developed and scanned directly from the film ..... what you see is what you get ... no additional post-processing was made ... (except for resizing, watermarking & shadow) ... where as ... the level, contrast & sharpening were left unchanged......

.. BTW .. it's getting late ... will upload more photos soon .... ;)
